ICMICA REGIONAL MEETING – NAIROBI, May 19, 2001
ICMICA SECRETARIAT FOR AFRICA
Resolution
I:
That an African Regional Secretariat be set up in Harare, Zimbabwe with Egide RWAMATWARA as the first secretary to take up this appointment with immediate effect and serve for one year.

2:
That a recommendation be made to Fr Antoine Sondag, International Chaplain, to facilitate the appointment of Fr Etienne Triaille as ICMICA African Regional Chaplain. This appointment shall be with immediate effect and for one year.

That a regional Council composed of each of the Presidents of the federations/contact groups and the Three International Council members be created with ICMICA Africa Vice-President as Chairperson. The term of the Council will be one year. The council shall meet at least once a year.

That a website for ICMICA Africa region be created with links to the Pax Romana website. Fr Etienne and Egide shall be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the website.

That a bank account be opened in Lusaka, Zambia by Mr Felix Chanda. Expenditure on the account to be sanctioned by the Council. Edouard Rubayiza shall be the international auditor.

6:
That the ICMICA Africa Vice-president draft a document which shall:
Define the orientation of ICMICA African region and the different roles of different stakeholders.
Define the terms of reference for the secretary, chaplain, council members and federations.
Define the priorities of ICMICA African Region with consultation of Presidents of federations/contact groups.
The draft report shall be ready for circulation to the council members by June 15, 2002.
The terms of References of the secretary shall be as follow:
· To create links between federations/contact groups among themselves and with the secretary General’s office.
· To promote the movement by attracting more federations.
· To receive and distribute reports
· To receive, review and submit project proposals to the Secretary General
·
To monitor the website together with Fr Etienne Triaille.
